It is critical that farmers and water rights holders in Whatcom County attend this afternoon of education sessions explaining the threat to water access in our area.

Learn from national experts about what you need to do to protect your water rights at this private, invitation-only event to be held at NW WA Fairgrounds Farm Pavilion in Lynden.

Sessions from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm, with light refreshments provided.

All attendees are encouraged to stay for our public, evening event: Solving Whatcom’s Water Crisis, with national and local experts continuing the discussion of the work needed to protect families, fish and farming.

Are You Prepared to Protect Your Water Access?

Learn what farmers need to do to prepare and participate in the process and what role the Water Improvement Districts (WIDs) will play. Experts will give a brief history of water rights in Whatcom County and an introduction to the threat of water access, including what happens with other water rights holders.

National and local experts involved with water access isues in other areas of our state and region will be speaking in person, using their knowledge and experience to detail the challenges and opportunites facing the farming community here in Whatcom County.
